The streaming component of this product is nothing short of exceptional providing the perfect ‘all in one’ product the market has been looking for. All you need to add is loudspeakers.
Released in February of 2020 YBA’s R100 streaming music centre is a wonderful addition to our Heritage range.
It is both an exceptional integrated amplifier with an output of 100 WPC reflecting the engineering and detail you have come to expect from YBA. It incorporates both a dedicated phono input and headphone output.
MQA (Master Quality Authenticated)
The R100 includes MQA technology, which enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. The R100 display indicates that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material. It glows blue to indicate it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner.
Features include an array of digital inputs including Optical, Coaxial, USB and Bluetooth plus the streaming features of AirPlay and network services for Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, Deezer. All you need to do is to add a pair of speakers and you have a total entertainment package.
Simple to operate by either remote or its own 130 x 71 mm TFT LCD touchscreen, the R100 gives you many options – the two USB inputs allow you to simply scan songs from those drives to your ‘local songs’ where they are categorised by title or artist – alphabetically if that is your preference. The USB needs to remain connected to continue to play any of the songs on the drive.
The addition of a USB-DAC provides a direct connection to your PC/Mac whereby the operation is fully independent of your computer built-in soundcard and will operate whether your computer has a soundcard or not. If you are using a Windows based PC then you will need a download – not required for Mac.
The setup operation gives you the ability to tailor the product to suit your own requirements and whenever a firmware update is announced it is a very simple operation to upgrade.
